Mr. Altman has previously run against Senator Sarbanes -- from that run:
Eighty-year-old Sidney Altman is a resident of Gaithersburg and is a
retired high school teacher. He earned his master’s from New York
University and his bachelor’s degree from the City University of New
York.

Registration of firearms: I support the registeration of Firearms, not
the registeration to the owners.

Although State law allows for much larger contributions, I'll accept
no personal contributions larger than $25.00 dollars, and no other
supporting contribution (Business or Political Committee) larger
than $100.00 dollars. I will not be a conservative by name alone,
'like taxes, the lower the limit the more will be gained.'

Even though these limits may impede the campaign. I feel that it's
important to reach out and give the entire community a chance to
contribute, without the fear of economic inequality.

As indicated below [survey ans], I believe the Constitution is clear that
U.S. citizens have the right to bear arms and oppose a government controlled
registry of gun ownership. Without a review of the current code and any
proposed changes, it would be irresponsible to lend carte blanche support
to the automatic issuance of concealed weapon permits.

I came across your website and would like you to know that I
strongly agree with all three of your questions. I know it
is too late to get an official survey, but I thought I would
let you know my position anyway. Once I win we will see about
changing some of these laws that only benefit criminals.
Thank you.

In his 8 years in the Senate, Art was the floor leader for
preventing restrictive gun laws and even passed legislation that
eliminated registration on antique firearms.

I would be happy to honestly answer your survey. As a retired law
enforcement officer and current defense contractor, I hope you'll
understand my reluctance to respond via email. Have a great day!

Dear Mr. Unitas,

I've not asked for a private insight into your campaign. If your
public position is to be revealed to the world via a web page, what is
your concern that it might leak because you used E-mail? If you think
I might distort your answers, they will be there for you to check?
What additional security is accomplished to sending them by paper?

In as much as my effort is to help make public your stance on an issue
of regular debate, I really don't understand your reluctance to respond
by E-mail.

*************************

Perhaps I've caught you on a bad day. You and I do not know each other
so I can't honestly say why you taken such a sarcastic and defensive tone in
your response. I would ask simply that you respect my rationale for not
replying to email surveys. It is NOT an issue of security or your
integrity, rather my life experiences in working with groups with are
beneficial to society. In my opinion, those individuals who have taken the
time to prepare a well though out series of family issues and made fruitful
attempts at standing tall for their convictions is a heck of alot more
worthy than a LAZY way of website posting.

I support the Constitution of the United States and Maryland, specifically
those areas that gives citizens the right to bear arms. However, I also
know that every right supported by both Constitutions does not provide
for misuse or abuse of those rights.

The creators of both drew upon the times and conditions in which they
lived. Our times have brought about a different world with an abundance
of misuse and abuse of most every thing by a very small percentage of
the population.

For responses to future inquiries or information request, please send
emails to citizensformiles@hotmail.com.

Thank you.

Malinda Miles, Candidate for State Senator, District 47
