Maryland gun rights were sacrificed in the Democrat’s
strategy to win the White House in 2000 and to assure Governor Glendening
a position in the Gore Cabinet. Taylor, Townsend and Glendening must be
gleefully considering their future that President Al Gore will open for
them.
Oh, oh – Al Gore didn’t win. What now for Speaker
Taylor? Try Plan B:
– Sell voters that the legislation was never intended
to be a ban on handguns and only intended to improve gun safety. (See
Washington Times, 12/28/2000, page C1).
– Hope nobody thinks about the impact on Jan. 1, 2003
(2 months after the 2002 election) from requiring internal locks in
