Examination of Sen. Collins state reports on 8/23/01 reveals that his re-election committee has collected $37,125 by the end of 1999. Nearly 80% of that money ($28,675) come from organization rather than individuals. One of his largest contributions ($1000) came from a Peter Angelos company (PGA ONE CHARLES CENTER, LP). Besides owning the Baltimore Baseball team, Angelos has a claim for $1.1 billion (that's right -- billion) as his fee for the Maryland tobacco settlement.

Funny that Sen. Collins' re-election committee report stops at the end of 1999. Surely they have collected money in 2000, but their state report shows none. This result may mean collecting is being recorded under some other name. That raise the question of what is Sen. Collins trying to hide?
