Senator:

You may be a competent engineer, but you are badly in need of lessons in how to talk to people. I chose not to speak with you on the phone because, without cause, you insulted me several times in a very public manner (by sending the insults to everyone on your e-mail list), and when I requested an apology, you then wanted to talk privately. I thought someone with your education and in your position would understand what I was saying: Until you are mature enough and man enough to issue a public apology in the same way you hurled your public insults, we have nothing to talk about.

Now, you issue more insults, accusing me of being afraid to talk to you, not knowing what went on in Annapolis (as if I don't have eyes) and of believing lies. In forming my current opinion of you and what you "accomplished" in Annapolis, I relied only on the facts of the situation and your own statements. While I have seen the things being written about you ("Benedict Arnold Ferguson", etc.) I pay no attention to such comments. Your own actions in Annapolis, your incorrect and misleading statements about guns, and your silly, laughable assertion that you "beat" the governor, are the only basis upon which I judge you. As I have explained many times during this exchange of correspondence, all I have asked for is an explanation of the things you said in your initial, unsolicited e-mail claiming to have "beaten" the Governor.

Ironically, your decision to offer insults instead of explanations tends to confirm, in my mind, the worst things being said about you. And your deliberate attempt to bait me with more insults is conduct that is, frankly, unbecoming of a Republican elected official. I don't know what is going on inside your head, nor do I care. I do know that what you are now doing amounts to harrassment of a citizen, and while I am not "afraid" of you, in any sense of the word, I find you to be a bit disturbing (if not disturbed). Do not contact me ever again, via phone, mail. or e-mail, for any reason.

Giff,
Why are you afraid to talk to me? I'm not trying to match wits with you, nor am I running from you into a private mail response. If you don't want to talk, fine. But, quit patting yourself on the back as if you know what went on down here. You're believing lies and that's a shame - because most members of the GOP Senate Caucus did whatever we could - seeing we didn't have the votes to filibuster.

I'm not calling you if you don't want to talk. But, if you do - call me at 301-858-3704 during the day.

Senator Tim Ferguson
