Del. Bronrott was one of the sponsors of HB279 (Responsible Gun Safety Act of 2000) and also a sponsor of HB280 (Tax Credit for Gun Safety Devices). HB280 was to provide that an individual may claim a credit against the State income tax in an amount equal to 50% of the purchase price of one gun safe or one or more firearm locking devices purchased during the taxable year; providing for specified limitations on the tax credit; etc.

Since virtually the same supporters of HB279 also supported HB280, it will surprise everyone (NOT) that HB280 did not pass.
