(rev. 3/8/08) [ Testimony
] Ms. Peschin quotes (page 8)
Montgomery [Alabama] Police Chief John Wilson as saying "It would
take body protection something like our troops are wearing in Iraq to protect
against such weapons, and even then they are not perfect" and
references note 20 which identifies the source as the 2002 Society of Law
Enforcement Training Conference. Given the Iraq war didn't start until
March 20, 2003 it is unlikely that Chief Wilson would have made a statement attributed
to him at this conference at a time no ground soldiers were in Iraq. There is evidence that Chief
Wilson said something similar, so I don't suspect Ms. Peschin. of
lying about the quote. What I do suspect is that Ms. Peschin is sloppy
about her facts, about documenting her facts and her thought processes.
This is an illustration of her sloppiness. Chief Wilson is not a man of
sterling character since he was forced to retire after an incident where he
was charged with "reckless endangerment". You can read the
story from the Montgomery Advertiser saved at: http://www.al.com/weblogs/print.ssf?/mtlogs/syr_fearfollypolitics/archives/print027830.html http://www.officer.com/article/article.jsp?id=15384&siteSection=1 The link: http://www.al.com/weblogs/print.ssf?/mtlogs/syr_fearfollypolitics/archives/print027080.html So, Ms. Peschin quotes a
police chief with a history of bad judgments. And, in making the quote,
she misattributes it to a time and place it couldn't have happened. BTW -- it appears Ms. Peschin has
warmed left-overs from 2004 in her 2006 “Every 48 Hours” report and is passing
these left-overs as a new meal. Her document "BACK IN BUSINE$$"
at is very similar to her CeaseFireMD report. 1 Phil Lee has a PhD in Mathematics. |
